The Illusion of Security

The lines at the “security” checkpoints at airports are longer than ever, all because the Bush administration wants us to believe that this is securing our flights. What does taking your shoes off, walking on a filthy floor in your socks, really accomplish except make you feel dirty for the rest of the day? C’mon, because of one guy we now have to take our shoes off? I guess it can be seen as a good thing that Richard Reed did not have some C4 wrapped around his penis, or we would all be whipping it out at the security checkpoint.
