Am I the Only One Who Thinks This is Wrong?
Former Presidents Bush and Clinton are currently appearing in a commercial asking that we give to help the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in southeast Asia stay alive and rebuild their cities, towns and villages.
The United States is spending one billion dollars each week to kill Iraqis and tear down their country.
If you were in control, wouldn't you stop the killing and spend this enormous amount of money to help people who need it most?

NOW YOU KNOW DAMN WELL THE U.S. IS NOT "SPENDING ONE BILLION DOLLARS EACH WEEK TO KILL IRAQIS."
OUR INTENTION IS NOT TO "KILL IRAQIS."
KNOWING THAT - WHAY WOULD YOU, BEING AMERICAN, SAY SOMETHING SO NEGATIVE AND AGRESSIVE TOWARDS YOUR OWN COUNTRY?
HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TO THE MID-EAST? DO YOU CHOOSE TO IGNORE THE GOOD THINGS WE AMERICANS BRING TO THAT REIGON?
I AGREE THERE ARE FELLOW AMERICANS WHO DESERVE HELP, HOWEVER; WE ARE A RICH NATION = EVEN THE POOR IN AMERICA ARE BETTER OFF THAN POOR IN IRAQ.
ARE YOU ABLE TO IMAGINE WHAT HORRIBLE LIVES THOSE PEOPLE HAVE LIVED FOR CENTURIES AND WHAT OUR INTENTIONS ARE AS A NATION TO HELP CREATE (NOT RESTORE) ORDER FOR THE PEOPLE?
All I know for certain is that the US is spending around a billion dollars a week on the invasion and occupation of Iraq, and that, so far, an estimated 100,000 Iraqi civilians have been killed. (http://www.kuro5hin.org/story/2004/10/29/62614/814) So my original statement does not seem too far fetched.
I make a negative comment about my country because, by law, I am permitted to, and because I believe that what we are doing there is just absolutely wrong.
I have been to the Middle East. I have seen the conditions there. But invading a country and killing thousands of innocent people does not seem to be the correct way to "help" people.
