Marriage Already Redefined

Arkansas and a few other states have something that they call a “covenant marriage”, which is some kind of super or mega marriage that has a more intense commitments and is much harder to get divorced from. Does anyone else see the hypocrisy in this? Here is a state, a dark red, “patriotic” blood red state, that is firmly against permitting homosexuals to marry because it will “redefine marriage”. Yet they have redefined marriage. A kind of interesting sidebar to this is that the governor and his wife entered into a covenant marriage where she promised to submit to him. This seems like a lose-lose situation for women, at least those who feel that they must enter into an unequal partnership when they get married.

I think a covenant marriage is one in which you let your husband choose the mattress that you will lay on seductively. To tie your two latest harangues together ;-)
