Please, NO MORE Kate Moss
Departing with my usual rants on important things, like how Bush is ruining our country, I delve into a minor but annoying issue - Kate Moss. I have no problem with her personally, in fact I do not know or have never even met her. For all that I know she may be a gem of a person, complete with her share of shortcomings like the rest of us. My problem is that I am tired of my paper wasting any space on a person with no visible talent, other than her appearance. This week the Houston Chronicle wasted at least three chunks of "Newsmakers" space on her and her problems. Why does anyone care? In fact, once she proved to all that she could not handle fame and fortune, i.e., her drug abuse, she should have returned to obscurity and replaced by some other "beautiful" person. It is not like she has some special talent, or is providing the world with something special or worthwhile. She is a model.
Again, she is a MODEL. This job requires the extreme good luck of being born at the right time with "the look" that designers are pushing. Beyond being "discovered" the difficult part of your life is over. You fly all over the place, get dressed up, have your picture taken, and cash big checks. Doesn't sound too hard or stressful to me. Only an idiot could screw up such a plum deal like this. Yet, Ms. Moss did. But my problem is not that she blew it, but that anyone cares enough to make this newsworthy.
To all of you out there controlling the media, we do not care about the ongoing "struggles" of someone who let go of the brass ring. Ignore her, let her move on, and stop wasting print space reporting anything about her.

Well I wasn't even sure who she was. I did a few web searches. I don't even think she is very attractive.
